8 Tips On How To Keep Your Teeth Clean and Healthy [AD]
Teeth are probably the most overlooked thing when we think of beauty, particularly when it comes to us Brits. We’re not as obsessed with teeth whitening and maintenance as our American friends across the pond are! However, it is important to keep your teeth clean and healthy – and it’s surprisingly easy to do so!
Good oral hygiene and regular visits to the dentist will help you maintain healthy teeth and gums. Here are my top tips to help you look after your teeth:
- Brush your teeth twice a day for about 2 minutes each time
- Always use a fluoride toothpaste to help keep your teeth and mouth healthy
- Brush thoroughly
- Floss daily
- Limit sugary food
- Limit acidic drinks like soft drinks, cordials and fruit juices
- Reduce the amount of red wine, coffee and anything that can stain your teeth you drink
- Visit the dentist for regular check-ups
Just as you should go to the dentist every 6 months, getting your hearing checked somewhere like The Yorkshire Hearing Clinic or Cleaner Ears is also a good idea because these small changes will have a big impact on your ability to live a healthier life.

I have been using the Colgate Total Pump toothpaste for a while now and feel like it really helps me keep my teeth clean and healthy. Particularly at the moment, during lockdown when it’s virtually impossible to see a dentist!
This toothpaste fights cavities, staining and sensitive teeth while providing . unbeatable 12 hour protection. It has an advanced antibacterial system for a healthy mouth; proactively fights bacteria not just on your teeth, but also your tongue, cheeks and gums!
It always leaves my mouth feeling clean and fresh which is not always a given with other brands. Often, I find some toothpastes taste far too minty – almost spicy in a way, which I’m really not a fan of.. It’s far too much of a shock in the morning and leaves a funny aftertaste in my mouth. Thankfully this, and other Colgate toothpastes don’t do that, which is why I’ve always been a fan of the brand.
I have always loved Colgate for their flip top lid; screw top lids are just so tedious, however I’m a huge fan of this pump! I know it might sound like I’m being pedantic, but when you’re half asleep, stood at the bathroom sink at 7am brushing your teeth, anything that makes your life that little bit easier is just brilliant! It actually makes a huge difference!
The real question is.. do you brush your teeth before or after breakfast? I am 100% in the ‘before breakfast’ camp!
